Alcoy & Bocairent
Alcoy is a not well known place that will surprise you a lot. It is a city surrounded by the Natural Park of Font Roja, the third most visited natural park in the region, where you can enjoy taking strolls or just relax. Another important tip: don’t leave without having tried the typical gastronomy of the region!
On the other hand, in Bocairent you will be enchanted by its historical centre, declared as a proper historic-artistic site, with its narrow streets it has given to the city the name of ”little Tuscany”.
ALCOY
Alcoy, also known as "the city of bridges" or "the city of the three rivers," gets its name from the number of rivers that flow through it: the Riquer, the Benisaidó, and the Molinar, all of which are tributaries of the Serpis.
While the city boasts several amazing natural parks, it is primarily known for its historical heritage and traditional celebrations, which are considered the oldest in Spain. Some of these celebrations, such as the "Fiesta de los Moros y Cristianos" and the "Cabalgata de Reyes Magos de Alcoy," are also internationally renowned.
BOCAIRENT
Bocairent, also known as "the village between the rocks", originated during the Muslim period with the name of Bukayrān. This historical influence is evident in the layout of its historic center, characterized by stairs and steep streets. Don't miss the chance to visit its three chapels: Sant Joan, Mare de Déu dels Desemparats, and Mare de Déu d'Agost. If you enjoy museums, Bocairent is the perfect city for you. The "Museo de Oficios y Costumbres" and the "Museo Arqueológico Municipal Vicent Casanova" offer a deep dive into the culture of this beautiful village.
